Entertainment is an activity that diverts or amuses people in their leisure time. It is often associated with fun and laughter, but may also serve a more serious purpose as in ceremony, celebration, religious festival, or satire. It can be created by people actively engaging in recreation, such as playing a game or creating their own art form; or it may be consumed passively, like watching a performance. Entertainment can be at any scale, from a single individual choosing private entertainment from the now vast array of pre-recorded products; to a city hosting a world-wide spectacle.
